How we can help – at home, and out and about
Staying independent can mean getting out and about, catching up with friends and meeting new people and even learning new things. Whatever you like to do we can accompany you to social activities and day centres, helping you to stay active and continue to enjoy hobbies.
Sometimes a carer may need to attend an event, they may be ill or they may just like to take a break, or a bit of time to themselves to shop or visits friend or family of their own. Our ‘Stop gap’ service is popular for those seeking support for a short period, or a few days.
We can arrange for a vehicle or driver to drive and accompany you to and from a doctor, hospital, dental or any other type of appointment. We can also provide transport to take you to visit family and friends too.
In the garden:
We can help with light gardening duties such as mowing the lawn, watering flowers and weeding. This service is great for those who like to enjoy their garden but just find that keeping on top of it is getting a little bit harder. And if we notice any significant problems within the garden we can alert you to any problems – we’ll generally help you to keep on top of things.
We find that many people like the independence of planning and preparing their own meals however, we can always assist or help put together healthy light meals like sandwiches and soups. With a little planning, we can also provide tasty homemade hot meals, prepared to suit your taste!
Keeping on top of things around the home can get a bit of a chore! We can help with general household cleaning such as the bathroom and kitchen, we can help with the laundry, changing beds, vacuum cleaning and ironing too.
We all like a bit of pampering, a trip to the hairdresser is often a social occasion. We can take you or we can arrange for our own qualified hairdresser to visit you at your home.
Shopping is also a social event for many of us, we can assist on those shopping trips or we can take care of all the grocery shopping for you, as well as vital visits to collect prescriptions, parcels, pensions and benefits.
