Armed Forces Day
Residents enjoy the Armed Forces Day Celebration with entertainment provided by “Steve The Piano Man”. Everyone joined in the celebration with singing, clapping, dancing and playing some musical instruments.
Alzheimer’s Society Fundraiser
One of Casa di Lusso’s Activities Assistants, Charlie, held a charity cake sale for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Charlie hosted the case sales both in her home and at Casa.
Their very kind relatives, visitors and staff donated a total of £55 and overall Charlie made over £250 for a charity close to all of our hearts.
Well Done Charlie!
Apex Park
Some of the residents enjoyed a trip out in the mini-bus to Apex park; a 42+ acre Leisure & Wildlife Park in Burnham-on-Sea.
They put on their sun cream and enjoyed the sunshine, while taking in the scenery, feeding the ducks and having an ice-cream, drinks & snacks before returning to Casa Di Lusso…
Deaf Awareness Week
For the past four weeks, the residents at Casa di Lusso have been learning sign language.
Ruth Baker, Activities Assistant led the group in learning useful sign language. Residents involved said they enjoyed learning and had fun at the group. They wanted to thank Ruth for the sessions.
Certificates were presented in Deaf Awareness Week on (17th May)
St George’s Day
Residents’ latest activities saw them celebrating St George’s Day. A creative afternoon of painting and making their own bunting, flags, shields and not forgetting the dragons!
They decorated cakes which they enjoyed eating at their St George’s Day tea party in the afternoon…
Chinese New Year
Casa di Lusso residents enjoy their Chinese New Year making paper lanterns and fans…
Amanda ‘Singing Angel’ Valentine’s concert special
Amanda Ham, also known as ‘ The Singing Angel ’ put on a Valentines special at Casa di Lusso. She performed a concert with a mixture of favorite songs, including singalongs & some romantic ballads in honour of Valentine’s Day this week.
Amanda said,
Casa Di Lusso lives up to its name & challenges any preconceptions you may have about residential care! The staff were all so helpful, friendly & positive and the residents were just lovely. I can’t wait to return in November for a Remembrance concert!
Also to share the love, residents lovingly made heart artwork from salt dough, tissue and woolen hearts. That are on display in the reception area for all to enjoy…
The ladies at Casa di Lusso enjoyed a pamper morning, (July 2017) As a result, Louise, Activities, painted their nails and poured them a glass of fizzy!
Casa di Lusso held a Time for Tea, St Margaret’s Hospice charity fundraiser (July 2017). The home had live music and lots of cake; in addition to the cupcakes, decorated by the residents.
The lovely afternoon raised £108.02!
An afternoon was spent at Sanders, Wyevale Garden Centre in Burnham-on-Sea. Accompanied by Casa di Lusso’s Activity Coordinator, Louise, and Care Assistant, Rona, the residents and relative made the short trip to Sanders.
They enjoyed looking at the beautiful plants, meeting the animals and browsing the clothing range.
Finally after a walk around the centre, they made their way to the café for a well deserved break.
Most noteworthy, Sanders Garden Centre presented resident and her husband with a present, because they would often go to the garden centre.

The residents were delighted to go to their local pub for a spot of lunch. (May 2017)
Consequently they enjoyed tasty pub classics and a tipple to wash it all down at The Admirals Table, Bridgwater. Furthermore the residents spent the rest of the afternoon with a good natter…
