WILLOW the donkey, charmed Residents and staff with another visit to Immacolata House.
Immacolata House welcome back Willow the donkey. Willow is part of the donkey assisted therapy programme at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, Devon.
The Donkey Sanctuary’s mission is;
“…to transform the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding and support. And finally a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering and to fully value their contribution to humanity.”
Not only do the donkeys adore all the attention they get from the visits, they also prove to be a great stimulation and provide valuable animal therapy to the residents. Evidence shows that spending time with animals can be highly therapeutic.
Willow turned heads as he paraded through Immacolata House; staying on the first floor, however, due to the fact that he doesn’t like lifts.
Nicola Davey, Activities coordinator, said:
“The residents love Willow’s visits. He brings comfort and smiles to everyone he meets.”
