The nominations have been read and the finalists for the forthcoming Care Awards have been selected and notified…

We are thrilled to announce that Jessica Stephenson, care assistant at Cedar Lodge and Operations manager, Leila Sharkey, are both finalists of the ‘Care Focus Care Awards’.

Jessica Stephenson (Cedar Lodge) –  nominated for ‘Commitment to Learning’ Award

This is the second year that Jessica has reached the finals! Nominated by Matthew Parrish, Manager at Cedar Lodge;

Jessica is a very caring and considerate person, putting people at the forefront of everything she does. Consequently she encourages and mentors others to do the same with drive and foresight.
She is able to demonstrate a clear understanding of our procedures and follow them through.  While working well as a team and on her own initiative. She often mentors and supervises others in solving issues, takes the initiative, creating problem solving forums among the team. Jessica is attentive towards her work, thinks rationally and often brings suggestions of improvement to the team. [Matthew Parrish]

Leila Sharkey (Regional Operations Manager) – nominated for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Care’ Award

Angela Hine from the Rectory Care Home nominated Leila;

I nominated Leila in this category because I have known her now for about 10 years through my work as a Care Ambassador and I have seen many different sides to her levels of ability and I have always been impressed by her work ethics. I am aware Leila sits at a highly strategic level in her organisation, yet I have also seen with my own eyes how ‘hands on’ she is with all her efforts.

Leila would think nothing of sitting in with a resident holding their hand if they needed reassurance, or picking up a mop and bucket, or helping out in the kitchen if the need arose and the list could go on endlessly, yet she would still manage her own workload seamlessly. I know Leila is not at all work shy on any level and this ethos emanates through in all that she does. She is a very kind and caring individual and I have seen evidence of this over and over again by her offers of support to people who need help.

In my opinion if the world had a few more Leila’s in it, it would certainly be a better place. [Angela Hine]

Congratulations to both finalists, we wish you all the very best for the award ceremony later this year in April.

A massive well done to everyone else who was nominated across the company. Commiserations for not getting through to the finals, however your hard work, tenacity and passion does not go unnoticed.
It is individuals like you that make N. Notaro Homes Ltd a great care provider, always putting people first.

The awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner on Friday 7th April 2017 at the Wellsprings Leisure Centre, Taunton.
