The Donkey Sanctuary visit the residents at Immacolata House Care Home…

Alice Crawford and Jenny Jepperson from the Donkey Sanctuary visited Immacolata House with their special guest; a Mediterranean Miniature Donkey.

William, the donkey, delighted residents and staff while he took a tour of Immacolata House. He was dressed festively with silver tinsel around his neck.

The 12-year-old, is part of the donkey assisted therapy programme at The Donkey Sanctuary. The assisted therapy programme is for children and adults and in addition involves therapeutic visits to care homes in the local community.

The visits from the donkeys prove to be a great stimulation for the residents and furthermore the donkeys adore all the attention they get from the visits.

Eilis Fox, Activities coordinator, said: “The residents really loved the visit and William was so well behaved.”
