Anita’s Barmy Army completes the Mendip Challenge
Anita Wingrove, activities coordinator at Clarence Park, who has taken part in the challenge every year for the past nine years, got a team together called Anita’s Barmy Army, consisting of her granddaughter, Taylor McNulty, and friends and fellow Clarence Park staff members; Marie Barr, Megan Leahy, Mitch Ballard, Taran Smith, Paulina Aleksandrowicz, Toni Banwell and Jess Millard.
The Mendip Challenge sponsored by the Weston Mercury is Weston hospice care’s largest annual fundraising event, seeing participants take on 30, 20 or 10 mile routes over the Mendips.
Anita’s Barmy Army raised £900 for Weston Hospice Care. There is still time to donate, please contact Clarence Park on 01934 629734.
Anita said: “The hospice doesn’t just care for people with cancer or other life limiting illnesses, it really cares for and supports families too.
“I have experienced this wonderful support and have also witnessed it at the nursing home where I work. I call the nursing staff at the hospice ‘special angels’.”
Well Done Anita and her Barmy Army! A wonderful achievement!
