This week is Dementia Awareness Week across the country. We are linking with the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness relating to dementia and the help and advice which is freely available.

If you’re worried that you, or someone close to you, may have dementia, it can be difficult to talk about. You may feel scared, confused or even ashamed. You may also be hoping that the problem will go away so you don’t have to deal with it.

The Alzheimer’s Society really understands dementia and there are lots of ways they can help.

You can speak to one of their National Dementia Helpline Advisers by calling 0300 222 11 22.

At Notaro Homes our care homes are getting involved by hosting activities all week closely related to raising awareness.  Some homes are providing daily activities which will include storytelling, reminiscence activities, playing word games and enjoying sing-a-longs. We will have further stories of what’s been going on as we move through the week.

Some of the information above has been taken from the Alzheimer’s Society website.  If you would like further information click here and you will be directed to their site
