Dementia Care
The symptoms of dementia include memory loss, confusion and disorientation which can be brought on by a variety of causes such as Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia. The incidence of dementia in the population increases with age. As the trend at present is for people to live longer we at Notaro Care Homes believe it is vital that the provision of care for people living with dementia is of the highest standard.
Notaro care homes offers both specialised residential and specialised nursing care for people living with dementia. The homes are designed and operated to provide safe, calm environments in which our residents feel at home. Carefully chosen signs, pictures and objects provide visual clues around our homes which help to make them make sense to a person living with dementia.
We enable our residents to live their lives to the full through a person centred approach. Our staff team all receive specialised training in dementia awareness including the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (YTT) programme which helps them to experience life through the eyes of a person living with dementia. Through this programme we recognise the importance of peoples past lives, their current needs and plan ways to assist them to enjoy their futures.
