Nursing Care
General Nursing Care
At Notaro Care, we create a home from home for older people who are affected by medical, physical or clinical conditions such as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, hypothyroidism and need round-the-clock nursing care. We also have specialist homes for people living with dementia.
Maintaining your independence and choice
Life in our nursing homes is quite the opposite of what people often expect. Moving from your own home to a nursing home shouldn’t mean losing your independence or control over your life. Each resident’s dignity and self-esteem is of utmost importance to us. That’s why we place each individual’s choices, needs and interests at the centre of their care.
Planning your care with you
We encourage each resident and their family/friends to be involved in planning their care. Whether their aims are to maintain health, happiness and comfort, or to alleviate suffering when their life is drawing to a close, they – or you – have a say, every step of the way.
We also constantly monitor and adapt people’s care according to changes in their circumstances or wishes. Each member of the nursing team has instant access to the latest information about a person’s care through our detailed care-planning systems.
Highly skilled, Registered Nurses - always ready to listen
As you’d expect, our homes have highly skilled and knowledgeable Registered Nurses in constant attendance, day and night. They take part in regular training and professional development, which ensures the quality of our care is second to none.
All staff are monitored and assessed regularly, and have a good understanding of the role of the Care Quality Commission and the need to meet the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety.
Of course, nursing isn’t just about clinical and medical care. Our nurses are good communicators and listeners too, working well as part of a team alongside residents, families/friends and other specialists.
Active minds and bodies
Helping people to maintain a sense of purpose and wellbeing is just as important as their medical care, so we encourage people to continue to enjoy their own hobbies and interests, and to get involved in the day-to-day tasks of the home like gardening or laying the table.
We also offer a range of activities and outings to encourage active bodies and minds, and plan our programmes alongside residents and their families through residents’ forums. Not a day goes by without something to look at, listen to, or take part in, at our homes.
Visitors are always welcome: call us to arrange a visit so you can see for yourself how
we care, when it matters most.
