Clarence Park Nursing Home Care Home, 7-9 Clarence Road North, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, BS23 4AT

Overview

Clarence Park is a registered nursing home which provides short term and long term care to residents who may be recovering from an illness, who may have on-going nursing care needs or those who may be living with a life limiting illness.

An elegant, bay-windowed Victorian town house we are just minutes from Weston-super-Mare’s famous seafront. Situated opposite the much-loved Clarence Park, we enjoy views across its striking lawns and mature flowerbeds.

Our home combines modern and traditional interiors with an emphasis on style and grace. The large bay windows allow light to pour into our elegant sitting rooms and bedrooms are warm and welcoming with many opening out onto our Mediterranean-style patio.

The garden features ramps and wide block paved areas for easy access, meaning everyone can enjoy our outside spaces. Colourful flower beds, a gently flowing fountain, an arbour with plenty of climbing plants and a delightful clematis, provide shade on sunny days. Raised planters make gardening a continuing pleasure for many of our residents who are encouraged to continue with their existing hobbies and participate in new ones.

Visit us at Clarence Park; you will be greeted by plenty of smiles and captivated by our sense of family and community.

Our homes may well be care homes, but first and foremost they are our residents’ homes. Each room and every space, has been created to be a comfortable place to relax and enjoy.

When coming to your new home we encourage you to bring the little things that matter to you; the things that make a place a home.

Teresa MonkHome

Care Home Manager

Teresa was born in Rainham Essex and started her nursing carer at the age of 14, volunteering at Saint George’s hospital in Hornchurch. In 1986 Teresa moved to the West Country with her family and continued working in various care homes and progressing through her career. This has included working for Notaro homes in previous years. For the past twenty years Teresa has been nursing and managing an acute medical area. This involved working closely with a wide range of multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery of care to a high standard.

Most recently Teresa has moved her mother down to the south west and has reviewed her working career and felt returning to Notaro homes would provide her with the opportunity to provide the high standard of care that she believes should be available to everyone. Teresa believes in working closely with residents, their families and friends and her team members to achieve a warm, friendly and homely place to live and work at Clarence Park.Teresa has a strong family grounding and enjoys spending time with her family and quality time with her seven, soon to be eight grandchildren. Teresa enjoys DIY and taking care of her dog, tortoise and fish and hates shopping so loves the internet.

Registered nurses available day and night

At Clarence Park, as in all of our nursing homes, we have Registered Nurses in constant attendance, day and night. Of course, nursing isn’t just about clinical and medical care. Our nurses are good communicators and listeners too, working well as part of a team alongside residents, families, friends and other specialists.

Seeing life through our residents’ eyes

All staff in our dementia homes from maintenance and catering, to care and nursing, receive specialist training in dementia awareness. This helps them to experience life through the eyes of a person living with dementia, making them more understanding of the condition and better able to support our residents.

Activities

At Notaro Homes we understand the importance of meaningful activities. They play a vital role in helping our residents live life to the full, whatever their physical ability. Our activities are not only designed to engage mind, body and spirit but to respect and honour our residents’ individuality. Each of our homes have their very own Activities Coordinator who is responsible for organising and delivering a fun packed, varied programme which often includes trips out and visits from animal sanctuaries, community groups and theatrical companies.
